Good morning, mesdames!

Avant de poursuivre mon propos, je voudrais vous remercier de nous avoir fait l’honneur de votre presence qui montre l’interet que vous portez a cette cause         

I am humbled and at the same time, bursting with excitement to know we will be sharing a stage and working ensemble towards a common goal.

Since 1997, Blue Metropolis has supported diversity, social integration and cultural dialogue through a slew of educational and social initiatives with literature at their heart center.

As a component of basic education and a foundation for lifelong learning, literacy is the key to enhancing human capabilities, eradicating poverty and achieving many other rights. It carries wide-ranging benefits not only for individuals but also for families, communities and societies.

 It is not every charity that offers us the unique opportunity to make such a meaningful, concrete and far-reaching impact.

We are all here today because we believe in this mission and we value the Blue Metropolis foundation’s efforts at advancing it.

 On the occasion of the 14th annual festival, the ever-so-creative Blue Metropolis team dreamt up a concept to celebrate the marriage between literature and fashion; the embodiment of our collective spirit, as women of beauty and of brawns.

Now ladies, as leaders in our respected domains, we know the importance of being trailblazers, so here comes the twist: every pair of shoes worn on the runway will be up for bids in a silent auction immediately following the show.

If you simply feel you can’t part with the gorgeous shoes you will be modeling, they are yours to purchase at a discounted rate- and tax receipts will be available for that too. So, I encourage you to spoil yourself…but just remember a little bit for you, and a little bit for Blue!!!

Rosenstein Paris is so generously giving us the right shoes…

But it is Blue Metropolis that is giving us the right opportunity to conquer the world.

Ladies, you have been selected for your individual merit, as well as for your ability and willingness to make a difference and I am confident that you will seize this opportunity and put forth every one of your capacities to make a lasting impact.
